John Everett, athletic committee chairman, said the last significant enhancement to the stadium was 50 years ago.

Architect Leon Lynn, with Jinright, Ryan, & Lynn, presented to the committee a list of suggested renovations, which served as an initial assessment toward the stadium.

Suggested renovations include enhancing the streetscape along Jackson and Washington, developing a new entrance off Jackson Street, and developing a parking entrance for the visitors’ side on Jackson Street.

According to Lynn, existing stadium bathrooms also are suggested for renovation. No new significant bathroom construction would be utilized, Lynn said.

Along with entrance and bathroom renovations, work on the press boxes on both sides is suggested. The press box on the home side is suggested to be reconstructed.

Renovations to remedy the damage caused by a fire that originated in the laundry room on Sept. 28 are another aspect of the overall proposed renovation to the stadium.

Existing concession facilities and stadium seating are also suggested for improvement. The extent of the seating improvements is to be determined.

The timeline for renovation completion is suggested for the beginning of August 2017, prior to start of fall football practices and the scrimmage game.
