85-year-old woman killed in car wreck

DALTON, Ga. — A Tunnel Hill teenager could face vehicular homicide charges after a head-on collision on Reed Road caused the death of an 85-year-old woman Monday afternoon.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Skylar Williams, 18, lost control of his Chevy Malibu while going southbound through a curve and hit a Lincoln Town Car driven by Joan Lutz of Cohutta. Lutz was killed and passenger Sharon Beason of Wescosville, Pa., was injured in the wreck.

After colliding with Williams’ vehicle, Lutz’s Town Car was thrown into another vehicle which was following her. Warren Devaney, 73, of Ringgold, escaped injury when the Town Car struck his vehicle.
Williams and Beason were both taken to Hamilton Medical Center for their injuries.
Cpl. E. Tommy Bonaparte said the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting the crash investigation and charges could be forthcoming pending the outcome of the investigation.
