TIFTON, Ga. — Amzie Cooper, customer service representative for the Sylvester branch of Conger LP Gas, has been promoted to marketing director. She will be responsible for leading the company’s marketing efforts in the South Georgia community.
Cooper’s promotion to this new role is part of a series of changes Conger LP is making as part of its strategy to grow the company’s brand and give back more to the community. She was hired in 2014 in the dual role of customer service representative for the Sylvester office and marketing assistant for the entire company. She has recently relocated her office from the Sylvester branch to the Tifton headquarters.
Cooper began her career as a secretary of public relations at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie and furthered her experience in marketing as an advertising executive for The Moultrie Observer. Before beginning her career with Conger LP, she worked as the internet manager for the Robert Hutson automobile dealership. Her 19 years of experience in public relations and marketing will give her the skills needed to help Conger LP Gas realize its plans for growth, the company said in a press release.
“In April, we began a process of evaluating our company and how we could best serve our customers and obtain new customers in the future,” said Conger LP Gas president and CEO Dan Richardson in a statement. “During this process, we saw the need to better educate not only our current customers, but also the younger generation of consumers who do not understand all the benefits of having propane appliances in their homes, providing fuel for their lifestyles. In order to achieve this goal, it was going to take a dedicated approach, thus the creation of the role of marketing director. We are excited about the set of skills and experience Ms. Cooper brings to this new position at Conger LP Gas.”
“I am honored to promote a company with such strong values and client service standards,” Cooper said. “Our goal is to revitalize the way the younger generation views LP Gas products so that they can fuel the lives of their families just as their parents have over the last 27 years.”
Conger LP Gas is one of the largest independent propane companies in South Georgia. The company has three locations in Tifton, Sylvester and Vidalia.
