DALTON, Ga. — You just might find something out of this world this weekend at the trade center in Dalton.

The Dalton Gem and Mineral Jewelry Show returns for the 25th year and promoter Mohammad Tahir promises there will be about 20 vendors displaying gems and jewels, beads, fossils, rare minerals and, yes, even meteorites.

In addition, some of the vendors will be making jewelry and cutting gems for the public to watch. And several will be offering jewelry repair and custom work while you wait.

“We’ve got vendors coming from across the country — North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, a couple from Texas,” he said. “We will be giving away a number of door prizes, including a half-carat diamond and gold ring as a grand prize.”

The hours are Friday, 2 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
