MOULTRIE – The newest Kiwanis member, Jeremy Paradice, allowed some of the Packer Wrestling Academy to demonstrate attack and defense techniques at a recent meeting.
Paradice proudly announced “Kids come from all over the state Georgia to train at the Academy. They understand the importance of quality coaching and experience for these kids,” said Paradice.

One of the wrestlers in attendance, Marshawn Sharp, has earned the position of “Top 10 in the nation” and is considering attending Northern Michigan University to train at the Olympic Training site. He is the second person in the history of Georgia wrestling to double All-American at University Nationals in Akron, Ohio. He placed third in Greco-Roman wrestling, which is upper-body wrestling and placed eighth in freestyle.
Wrestlers currently vary from 6 – 18 years of age. Paradice says the Academy accepts children ages 6 until “they don’t want to wrestle anymore.”
Currently, funding for trips and competitions comes from fundraisers and Paradice’s own pocket.
To raise money for trips and competitions, they recently sold bedsheets. They made about $3,000, which covered most of the wrestlers.
They are always accepting donations and are encouraged by the community’s support.
