Gibson to speak at Union Missionary Baptist Church

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Union Missionary Baptist Church and the Rev. Freddy Williams will celebrate with the Mission In Action Auxiliary in a fellowship program Sunday May 22, at 3 p.m. The speaker for this occasion is Prophetess AnJel Gibson of Pelham, Ga. She is a member of Summerhill Baptist Church where the Rev. Winfred Tyler is her pastor.
Gibson is an educator, teacher, and a preacher who likes to “keep it real,” according to a press release from Union Missionary Baptist. She is a graduate of Zion Christian Bible Institute of Thomasville, where she was licensed and ordained as a minister by the Rev. William Bradley. She is the Union Secretary for the Camilla Baptist Association, and she is the daughter of the late Willie L. and Rosa Wilson of Pelham and the granddaughter of the late minister Walter and Ceola Smith. She is the mother of one son, Dontae Gibson.
Gibson was named Outreach Evangelist of the Year in 2008 by the Zion Christian Bible Institute of Thomasville, Ga. She received that award for her unselfish devotion in serving people in her profession in Thomasville and surrounding communities by helping the elderly with meals and clothing ministry. She is a member of the Summerhill Missionary Baptist Church of Pelham.
She has directed numerous choirs for over 18 years and taught praise and worship dance for over 21 years. She has been a youth minister for 14 years. She is president of the Youth Empowerment Program in the community and surrounding areas. Gibson has given numerous hours of voluntary service to educate the public, assist youth, provide scholarships, support organized charities, nursing homes, and hospitals, the press release said. She is a member of the Alpha Phi Beta Professional Alumni of Georgia, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Alumni of Georgia, and she works with the March of Dimes of Tallahassee, Fla.
She placed second in public speaking for the District of Georgia in 2004, in Atlanta, and won third place for the State of Georgia for public speaking for Alpha Phi Beta in 2005 in Tennessee. Gibson is a member of the National Honor Society Alumni at Southern Regional Technical College of Thomasville.
She is now a graduate of Andersonville Theological Seminary with a associate degree in biblical studies, Christian education, bachelor’s degree in ministry, masters in biblical counseling, Doctoral of Biblical Counseling, and Doctoral in Ministry with magna cum laude honors and has obtained a 4.0 GPA for five (5) years. Gibson also has an outreach ministry, Divine Holiness Church of Faith.
