An investment in our future

For the past few years, the Archway Project here in Moultrie and Colquitt County has sponsored a High Potential Leaders project.
The crux of this project is to groom young potential leaders who will be the driving forces for continued community successes.
It’s a structured process that involves mentors and a protocol in which these young people are exposed to leadership concepts and become better acquainted with the development of their community. They become aware of needs, challenges, advantages, etc. In a sense they shadow those who have come before them as community leaders.
Each class of potential leaders is selected with much diversity in mind, to include not only race but professions, gender and geography.
In a sense, the High Potential Leaders project is being proactive when it comes to considering the quality of life we desire in our community. While some leaders will naturally step forward, the HPL concept is a deliberate system to tap the energies of those who will be encouraged to take the reins in the future and direct our course.
Via Archway, dozens of young people already have been engaged in his venue. It’s just one of the many goals of Archway to make Moultrie and Colquitt County more successful — a better place in which to live and raise our families.
Hats off to those who have engineered and perpetuated this effort. We are all better off for it. And much appreciation to those young people who are so vested in their community.
