ABAC’s poet in residence to speak at Moultrie library

MOULTRIE — The Moultrie-Colquitt County Library will host a program featuring Jeff Newberry at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30. His topic will be “The Poetry in Prose and the Prose in Poetry: Reading and Writing in Multiple Genres.” The program is expected to be of interest to both readers and writers.

Newberry is poet in residence at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where he teaches in the writing and communication program. He is the author of the novel “A Stairway to the Sea,” the poetry collection “Brackish,” and the co-editor (with Brent House) of the poetry anthology The Gulf Stream: Poems of the Gulf Coast.

The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Willcoxon Auditorium in the Moultrie Library, 204 Fifth St. S.E., Moultrie.
