MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — Rick and Robyn Hughes of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. and formerly of Norman Park, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Erica Anne Hughes, to John Michael Wirka. He is the son of John and Allison Wirka of Ft. Myers, Fla.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of John and Lynda Norman of Norman Park, and Demaris Hughes and Freddie Hughes of Nashville, Ga.

A 2007 honor graduate of Lowndes County High School, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2012 from Valdosta State University in Valdosta.

The future groom is the grandson of Bill and Virginia Wirka of Winterhaven, Fla., and Patricia Cheshire of Tallahasse, Fla.

A 2003 graduate of Lake Mary High School, he recieved a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 from Florida State Univerisity in Tallahassee, Fla. He is currently in the 7th Special Forces for the United States Army at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

The wedding will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort Grand Lawn.
