- Longtime Pot o’ Gold Pro-am veteran Ernet Venet gets some putting practice in on Wednesday at Sunset Country Club. Venet will play on the foursome led by Brookstone Country Club golf professional Craig Stevens.
MOULTRIE — Sunset Country Club generally enters two teams in its annual Pot o’ Gold Pro-am, with the club’s golf professional leading both foursomes.
But when the 61st annual Pot o’ Gold tees off on Friday for its annual three-day run, there will be five Sunset teams in the field.
Sunset pro Bob Windom will field his customary two teams, serving as the pro for each.
His No. 1 team will include amateurs Jonathan Bridges, Jared Bridges and Clarke Hendrick.
Sunset No. 2 will include amateurs Eli Stripling, Andrew Eunice and Chad Eunice.
Aaron Elrod, who has been Sunset’s assistant pro since last June, also will lead two teams.

All five Sunset teams and the other 39 foursomes will play 18 well-turned holes.
“The course is in good shape,” Windom said. “And the greens are probably the best we’ve ever had for the Pot o’ Gold.”
