Dorothy “Faye” Young Gay

MOULTRIE – Dorothy “Faye” Young Gay, 69, of Moultrie, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Agape Health and Rehabilitation in Moultrie.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Midway Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating.  Interment will follow in Midway Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Lamar Sauls, Matt Sauls, Sean Sauls, T.J. Sauls, Art Harvin, and Wayne Lacey.  Roscoe Gay, Darrell Gay, Mark Scheuring, and Brady Mercer will serve as honorary casketbearers.

Born December 19, 1946, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Jefferson Young and Annis Burgess Young.  She graduated from Moultrie High School in 1964, was a member of the Magnolia Garden Club and of Midway Freewill Baptist Church.  Her family remembers how she was homemaker and an awesome baker and was very creative.  

She was preceded in death by sister, Judy Sauls; brother-in-law, Dorsey Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Edward Gay of Moultrie; two children, Tracy Gay and Brenda and Keisha Spears and Richard all of Moultrie; three grandchildren, Sarah Gay, LeAnna Gay and Noah Spears; a sister, Mary Ann Smith of Moultrie; a brother-in-law, Lamar Sauls of Moultrie; and three nephews, Matt Sauls, Sean Sauls and T.J. Sauls.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 287 Lower Meigs Road, Moultrie, Ga., 31768.
