MOULTRIE – William Floyd “Billy” Kent, Jr., 60, of Moultrie, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 6, at Redland Baptist Church in Valdosta with the Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Valdosta.
Casketbearers will be Ben Summerlin, Raymond Herndon, Bruce Godfried, Barry Frakes, Mike Cannady, Chuck English, and Clint Crooks.
Born September 23, 1955, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late William Floyd Kent and Evelyn Helen Cannon Kent. He was a member of Redland Baptist Church in Valdosta and was the owner of Kent’s Garage. Mr. Billy loved his cars, drag racing, his children, grandchildren and the rest of his family.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Sue Hall Kent of Moultrie; two daughters, Melissa Rentz and Keith, and Tiffinee Dasher and Tony all of Valdosta; a son, Michael Coody and Atlena of Valdosta; three brothers, Darrell Kent, Jake Kent and Barbara, and James Kent all of Moultrie; three sisters, Glenda Apperson and Ken, Brenda Chalkley and Jim, and Marilyn Kent all of Moultrie; five grandchildren, Breauna Coody, Mikey Coody, Lauren Rentz, Morgan McGuire and Hunter Rentz; and special friend, Andrew Knighton and Brenda of Moultrie.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, February 5, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
