Clark originally carried a general caseload as an assistant district attorney, but for the last few years has handled probation revocations, as well as serving as the appellant attorney for the Valdosta office, writing all of the appellate briefs for jury convictions in Brooks, Echols and Lowndes Counties. Clark will also be the senior assistant district attorney assigned to the newly formed Lowndes County Accountability Court, and will participate in the staff meetings in order to determine the eligibility of participants in that program.

Clark resides in Lowndes County with her husband Greg and their three children. She is the daughter of Colquitt County Sheriff Al Whittington.

Meredith Brasher has been promoted to senior assistant district attorney. Brasher joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2011 with eight years of prior legal experience. She is the primary Lowndes County Juvenile Court prosecutor as well as prosecuting most of the child abuse cases in Brooks, Echols and Lowndes Counties. Additionally, Brasher prosecutes cases on an as-needed basis in Colquitt County.

Brasher lives in Lowndes County with her husband Jonathan and their son.

Cathy Helms has been promoted to senior assistant district attorney. Helms was previously an assistant district attorney in Valdosta from 1988 to 1990, and was district attorney of the Alapaha Circuit from 2005 to 2012. She rejoined the Valdosta office in January 2013. With her 13 years of prosecution experience, Helms maintains a varied caseload, including homicides, robberies and aggravated assaults. Helms was also awarded the 2015 Georgia Arson Prosecutor of the Year Award, which is given annually to one prosecutor in Georgia for outstanding work in the prosecution of arson cases.

Helms lives in Clinch County with her husband Jeff and son Jack.

The prosecutors of the Southern Judicial Circuit serve the citizens of Brooks, Colquitt, Echols, Lowndes and Thomas Counties.
