DeMott, Sears announce engagement

MOULTRIE — Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Michael DeMott of Moultrie, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Georgia Michael DeMott, to James Daniel Sears. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Bryan Sears, Jr., of Douglas, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gwendolyn DeMott Colson and the late Roscoe Eudonna DeMott of Moultrie, and Mrs. Ruth Brown Abernathy and the late Saint Dennis Abernathy of Norfolk, Va.
A 2007 graduate of Colquitt County High School, she received a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences, in 2011, from the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., where she graduated cum laude. In 2013, she received a Masters of Education in Workforce Education from the University of Georgia, where she graduated summa cum laude. She is currently a Nutrition and Food Science teacher at Jackson County Comprehensive High School in Jefferson, Ga.
The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Mae McDonald Sears and the late James Bryan Sears, of Douglas, Ga., and Mrs. Dorothy Joyce Griffin and the late William Daniel Griffin of Alapaha, Ga.
A 2009 honor graduate of Coffee County High School, he received a Bachelor of Arts in English, in 2013, from the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. He is currently a law student at Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. He is expected to receive a Juris Doctor in 2018.
The wedding will be held June 4, 2016, at Amelia Island, Fla.
