The reason

“You want to know why Dr. DePaul is looking for a job?  Three new CCBOE members, Mary Beth Watson, Kevin Sumner, and Robby Pitts, will not vote to renew his contract and keep him.  It is sad that this county has six and not five or seven board members.Dr. DePaul has created many positive programs in our county and has definitely been an asset for our students and our county.

“If the man has a permit to carry his gun as was described, then there should be no issue here.

“So a person has a license to carry a firearm. He has a choice to wear it concealed (which is provided for by the permit) or to wear it in plain view. My guess is, a non-law enforcement officer will wear his gun in plain view because he wants to be noticed.

Wondering

“I was just wondering, how many times has a citizen who was legally carrying a firearm ever intervened in a hostile situation? With all the data crunches available, that information must have been tabulated.

Educate yourself

If you cannot understand the reason why that’s put in there, you need an extreme history lesson that I cannot give in 60 words or less. Educate yourself before you start jibbering about why we don’t need firearms, no matter what it is.

Suggestion

“It would be nice for a major shopping center to have a place out back for their employees to smoke. They are always near the front entrance with their cigarettes. Please get a place for them some where besides the front entrance.

Maybe in time

“Yes, Cam Newton is quite the athlete. But when you add all of his antics and then he gets soundly defeated, he only looks silly. Maybe in time he will grow up. Class-act quarterbacks don’t act like that.

What I heard

“A fellow told me that he didn’t believe smoking was actually bad for your health. I think he may be one of those who thinks we never actually went to the moon.

Timely

“Your editorial about ‘the right to speak up’ is very timely in my opinion. We have too many people who do not exercise their rights in this regard. I do think we take many of our rights for granted and your analogy that like a muscle, unclaimed rights may atrophy is very appropriate.

Humbled maybe

“Yes, Cam Newton looked a bit humbled after he was beaten by a team that just two weeks ago couldn’t even score against the Panthers. Maybe someone will point out to him how silly he looked when the tables turned.
