MOULTRIE — Victor and Carolyn Dobbs of Moultrie, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kara Lynn Dobbs, to Matthew Aaron Elrod. He is the son of Robert Lee Elrod and Chrissy Elrod of Moultrie.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Burma Jean Sparkman of Moultrie, Ron and Betty Tauber of Moultrie, and Dwane and Florence Dobbs of Crossville, Tenn.

A 2010 graduate of Colquitt County High School, she is pursuing a degree in Biology at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. She is a member of Sigmi Alpha Chi and the Golden Key Honour Society. She is currently the Assistant Manager at The Buckle in Valdosta, Ga.

The future groom is the grandson of Marjorie Grantham of Madison, Fla..

A 2007 graduate of Colquitt County High School, he received a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, from Armstrong State University in Savannah, Ga, and attended Darton College in Alabany, Ga. He was a member of the 2006 State Championship golf team, a 2006 Individual State Champion, and two time National Runner up in the NJCAA National Championships. During his senior year at Armstrong, he finished 2nd team All Conference with 5 consecutive top 5 finshes. He is currently an Assistant Golf Professional at the Sunset Country Club in Moultrie.

The wedding will be held Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the Sunset Country Club in Moultrie.
