Jacobs, Mobley wedding

MOULTRIE — Lindsay Leigh Jacobs and Joseph Tyler Mobley were united in marriage at 6 p.m., on May 2, 2015, at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Marston officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary R. Jacobs of Hartsfield. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Mobley of Moultrie.

Three large arrangements adorned the church. A center arrangement with hydrangeas, snap dragons, white roses, and greenery cascaded from the baptismal. Two arrangements in large white urns which also had hydrangeas, snap dragons, and white roses, decorated the front of the church. Six eight-light candle trees added a beautiful glow and burned in the memory of loved ones. String bows of white tulle draped to the floor with a white hydrangea decorated the pews.

There was special music during the ceremony by string quartet, Shaker Lake Chamber Players, organist Ken Collier, and vocalists, Dr. William Huffman and Angelie Lipscomb.  

The Bride was given in marriage by her father, Gary R. Jacobs. The bride wore a champagne and ivory trumpet gown with silk chiffon bands underneath a floral lace overlay. The neckline was a modern sweetheart neckline complimented by delicate marta lace straps. The gown finished with a chapel length train. The veil was a circle cut chapel length veil with Chantilly lace appliqués cascading down the sides and on the train. The bride’s bouquet was a petal to petal bouquet with peonies, ranunculuses, garden roses, and accented with dusty miller.

The maid of honor was Ashley Jacobs of Hartsfield, Ga., the bridesmaids were Bethany Buice of Atlanta, Ga., Kirsten Bulkeley of Knoxville, Tenn., Jordan Croft of Savannah, Ga., Callie Gay of Auburn, Ala., Caroline Goodner of Orlando, Fla., Genna Mobley of Moultrie Ga., Rebecca Mobley of Meigs, Ga., Whitney Pitts of Norman Park, Ga., Leah Sands of Norman Park, Ga., Crosby Young of Signal Mt., Tenn., and the flower girl was Elle Mobley of Meigs, Ga. The bride’s attendants wore a long soft peach chiffon dress with spaghetti straps with slim key holes in the front and a back neckline completed the dress. Their bouquets were made of garden roses and ranunculuses in peach and coral and accented with dusty miller.

The best man was Mark Mobley of Moultrie, Ga., and the groomsmen were Daniel Mobley of Moultrie, Ga., Thomas Brown of Atlanta, Ga., Drew Cunningham of Atlanta, Ga., Sam Heath of Buford, Ga., Chad Jacobs of Hartsfield, Ga., John Mark Mobley of Meigs, Ga., Matt Mobley of Moultrie, Ga., Michael Murray of Moultrie, Ga., Chance Pitts of Moultrie, Ga., and Josh Williams of Knoxville, Tenn.

The ushers were Stephen Adcock of Moultrie, Ga., Hank Goodyear of Atlanta, Ga., Carter Jones of Charlotte, N.C., Mike Mobley of Gainesville, Ga., J.Cody Neal of Charlotte N.C., Emory Nesbit of Thomasville, Ga., Brandon Smith of Sunrise, Fla., Joe Young of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Will Young of Atlanta, Ga.

The reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Mobley. It was held under a white frame tent with crystal chandeliers down the length of the tent for lighting. Garlands made with fresh greenery of seeded eucalyptus and accented with white hydrangeas as runners adorned mahogany farm tables. Small, medium, and tall mercury glass candle holders with pillar candles were also placed down the center of the tables. Centerpieces on banquet tables were designed in pedestal mercury glass containers with hydrangeas, garden roses, and ranunculuses. Mercury glass votives with tea light candles were placed on each table. The dance floor was installed over the pool and was open to the stars. White bistro strand lights were strung over the dance floor.

The brides cake was a five tier cake covered in white fondant. Every other tier was decorated in raised fondant appliqués of vines, leaves, and floral motifs. The entire cake was lemon cake with fresh blueberries baked in the layers, filled with lemon curd buttercream, and frosted in vanilla buttercream. It was decorated with fresh garden roses, spray roses, and ranunculuses.

The groom’s cake was a three tier cake with two flavors of red velvet and butter cake, filled and frosted with dark chocolate ganache. There was a monogram “M” on the top tier and the cake was decorated with bolls of cotton made from sugar and filled with white cotton candy to resemble cotton.
