Bailey, Oakes

Mrs. Debbie Bailey and the late Mr. Bill Bailey of Armuchee, Ga., are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter Courtney Megan Bailey to Corey Jerome Oakes of Doerun.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ruth and Richard Eminhizer of Hesperia, Calif. She is a 2008 graduate of Armuchee High School. She attended the University of Georgia for undergraduate classes and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2013 from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. Since graduation, she has been working as a registered nurse in the emergency room at the Medical Center in Macon.

The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Oaks of Doerun and the grandson of Mr. C.J. Oakes and the late Mrs. JoAnne Oakes of Doerun and the late Mr. and Mrs. O.D. Elliott of Norman Park.

He is a 2004 graduate of Colquitt County High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture in 2010 from the University of Georgia in Athens.

While at the University of Georgia, he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, where he served on the judiciary council and the Agronomy Club.

Since graduating, he has completed an internship at Black Gold Farms in Hawkinsville and worked as the warehouse supervisor/administrator at Meherrin Ag and Chemical Co.

The wedding is scheduled for Oct. 3, 2015, at the Farley Plantation in Milner, Ga. Formal invitations will be sent.
