MOULTRIE — An Omega man who struck the rear of a Colquitt County Schools bus on Monday afternoon near Norman Park was issued two citations by the Georgia State Patrol.

Christopher Brandon Hall, 22, was charged with driving without license on person and following too closely in the accident that occurred at about 4 p.m. just outside the city.

A school official told The Observer on Monday that the driver of a pickup truck struck the rear bumper of a bus stopped on U.S. Highway 319 to drop off a student. There were about 35 to 40 students on the bus but there were no injuries, the official and state patrol said.

• Heriberto Perez Herrandez, 27, 1611 Old Doerun Road, was charged Saturday with giving false information or name to police.

• Michael David Roy, 28, 1420 West Blvd., was charged Monday with battery and interfering with a 911 call.

• Travin Walker, 23, Moultrie, reported that a male acquaintance hit him in the left side of the face during an argument.

The acquaintance told police that he hit Walker because Walker was “in his face.”

Walker declined to press charges and no arrest was made.

• Jasmine Harris, 21, Moultrie, reported Monday that a male acquaintance punched her in the forehead and mouth during an argument in the 600 block of South Main Street.

Harris told police that the man took her cell phone and car keys and then walked away. Police searched the area but did not locate the man.

• McClellan Mobley, 2800 block Highway 37 East, reported Monday the theft of a television and game controller with a total value of $210.

• Jimmy Castleberry, 400 block Vickers Bridge Road, reported Monday the theft of a Stihl chain saw valued at $444.

• Justin Weeks, 2100 block Sylvester Highway, reported Friday the theft of several batteries from equipment. The value of the batteries was unknown.

Moultrie Police

• Kevin Holmes, 23, Moultrie, reported Saturday that a female acquaintance he knows only by the nickname “Pretty” stole his 1999 Nissan Altima in the Second block of First Avenue Southwest. The value of the car was unknown.

• Gary Argo, Moultrie, reported Saturday the theft of a firearm valued at $200.

Property damage

• Allen Nguyen, 500 block Elham Road, reported Monday that he heard a noise at 4 a.m. and later found what appeared to be a piece of metal wire in the side of his mobile home.

The residence had damage to one piece of vinyl siding, police said.

Moultrie Police

• Mary Warren, 400 block Eighth Street Northwest, reported Friday that the left back tire of a 1999 Oldsmobile 88 was cut and the registration sticker scratched off.

Warren told police that on the same night the damage occurred a male acquaintance had banged on her door at midnight but that she did not let him in.

• Dianne Roberts, 1200 block Fifth Street Southwest, reported Saturday that a 2006 Cadillac SRX she had rented had been damaged.

The car had damage to the bumper and rear panel on the driver’s side, police said.

• Lateshia Davis, 1500 block Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported Saturday that someone tried to shove a candy bar into the gas tank of a 2005 Dodge Stratus.

Police recommended for her to have a mechanic examine the car before starting the engine.

• Amber Phillips reported Saturday that the rear bumper of a 2012 Ford F-150 was damaged while parked in the 400 block of Veterans Parkway North.

• Victoria Green, 500 block 27th Street Southeast, reported Saturday that a 2001 Toyota Camry was damaged.

• Aleisa Jackson, 800 block Fifth Street Northwest, reported Sunday that a window of her residence was broken right after she had refused to open the door for a female acquaintance.

A brick was found stuck in the blinds inside the residence, police said.

• Dontavious Spence reported Saturday that his daughter, K’Teeona, was bitten by a Chihuahua on Regency Village Drive.

• An officer investigated a report of shots fired at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Third Avenue Northwest.

• Police investigated a report of people with a gun at about 2:30 a.m. on Sixth Street Southeast.

• Shots were reported at about 2:05 a.m. Sunday in the area of Seventh Avenue and Fifth Street Southwest.

• Shamona McBride, 400 block Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, reported Sunday that a male acquaintance broke her bedroom window and entered her apartment, at which time she ran out with her child.

Police checked the apartment but the man had left. They found furniture turned over near the window and the window frame on the floor.

• Michael Lupo, Kingwood Garden Drive, reported seeing a suspicious person run around the fence into the yard of a vacant residence.

Police did not find a suspect in the area.
