Griner Jewelry sponsors food drive for prizes

The staff and owners of Griner Jewelry hold up canned goods and pet food like the items they hope to receive during a food drive that began Thursday along with their anniversary sale.

MOULTRIE — Darrell and Yvonne Griner, owners of Griner Jewelry, have announced the kick-off of a unique food drive.

Customers and the general public are invited to bring canned food to the store in return for “Bling Bling Bucks.” The six entrants who save up the most of these certificates will receive one of six prizes with a total value of more than $5,700.

For each non-perishable canned food item or canned pet food item donated the participant will receive 200 Bling Bling Bucks and for each canned fish, meat product, peanut butter, jelly or a bag of Pet Food donated they will receive 400 Bling Bling Bucks

Prizes include:

• Grand Prize: 14K w/g diamond fashion ring 0.37 tdw, worth $2,200.

• 2nd Place: 14k w/g diamond pendant w/18” chain 0.75 tcw, worth $1,500.

• 3rd Place: A pair of 14k w/g diamond stud earrings 0.50 tcw, worth $1,489.

• 4th Place: Element Electronics 40” LED flat screen TV, worth $268.

• 5th Place: Nextbook Quad-Core Windows 8.1 tablet, worth $179.

• 6th Place: 7” Sentry Dragon Touch Tablet, worth $99.

All non-perishable food items will be donated to Colquitt County Food Bank and all pet food will be donated to Colquitt County Humane Society.

Darrell Griner said the food drive is a “fun way to gather food for needy families and pets and a rewarding way to thank those who participate, by giving out prizes.”

Some of the other ways to gain Bling Bling Bucks are by bringing in the store’s weekly newspaper ad and by returning weekly post cards mailed out to each participant.

No purchase is necessary to participate and all the prizes are on display in the store.

Donations will be accepted at Griner Jewelry, 30 First Ave. S.E. in Downtown Moultrie during regular store hours, which are Tuesday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
