CORDELE — Kenny and Diane Parsons of Warwick, Ga., and Donald and Chris Shaffer of Starks, La., are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Selena Shaffer Potts, to Scott Dawson of Tifton.

He is the son of Randy and Nancy Dawson of Sylvester.

The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Worth County High School. She attended Georgia Southwestern State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in 2003. She received a Masters of Education in Middle Grades Mathematics in 2005. In 2014, she graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership. She is currently employed as a teacher by the Lee County Board of Education.

The groom-elect is a 2000 graduate of Worth County High School. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where he received an Associate of Science Degree. In 2005, he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and AGHON Honor Society. He is currently employed at Georgia Power Company as a transmission forestry specialist (senior).

The wedding is planned for 6:30 p.m. June 6, 2015, at Southern Woods Plantation in Sylvester. All family and friends are invited to attend.
