Man found sleeping in wrong bed

In a scene reminiscent of the story of Goldilocks, a Moultrie woman returned home to find someone sleeping in her bed.
Brandy Morgan, 31, returned home at about 10:40 p.m. Friday to find Thomas Andrew Strickland sleeping in her child’s bedroom. It was not a fairy tale ending for Thomas Strickland, whom police awoke and ordered to put his hands behind his back. Strickland, 37, Fourth Street Southwest, was charged with criminal trespass and possession of methamphetamine.
In other arrests:
• Jason Reid Herring, 20, 496 Giles Road, was charged Friday with battery.
Herring was arrested after Joshua Bennett, 26, reported that Herring showed up at his residence in the 200 block of West Boulevard, tackled him and hit him. He also told police that his assailant ran over his leg as he was leaving. Bennett was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center for treatment.
• Marcos Lopez-Luna, 34, 806 Circle Road Lot 8, was charged Friday with driving while unlicensed.
• Zocimo Jimenez-Rojas, 29, 609 Second St. N.W., was charged Friday with no driver’s license and tag light violation.
• Richard Hayes, 49, 131 18th St. S.W., was charged Saturday with public drunk and public indecency.
An officer witnessed Jimenez-Rojas urinating at the intersection of Ninth Avenue an Eighth Street Southeast, police said.
• Freddie Lee Johnson, 60, 515 Oak Circle, was charged Saturday with driving with suspended registration and no insurance.
• Tafarrian Demetrius Bailey, 29, 123 Old Doerun Road, was charged Saturday with duty to obey officer, probation violation and driving while license suspended.
• Thomas Andrew Strickland, 37, Fourth Street Southwest, was charted Friday with possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass.
• Chase Daniel Thomas, 27, 20 First St. S.E., was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct and public drunk.
• Cruz Costill Stamper, 28, 721 First St. S.W. Apt. B, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, tag light violation, no valid insurance and canceled registration.
• Ruben Lira Escobedo, 21, 3667 Ellenton-Norman Park road, Norman Park, was charged Sunday with no driver’s license and failure to dim headlights.
• Mary Jene Jackson, 58, 1075 Elliot Brown St., was charged Sunday with driving under the influence and striking a fixed object.
• Samuel Caleb Plymel, 19, 268 Norman Estates, was charged Sunday with headlights violation and possession of marijuana.
• Elijah Alexander Gomez, 19, 1089 Hwy. 33 S., was charged Sunday with possession of marijuana.
• Colby Ramon Reneker, 19, 2058 Hwy. 111, was charged Sunday with possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor.
• Henry Lee Young, 313 Fifth Ave. N.W., was charged Sunday with driving under the influence (test refusal), suspended license, failure to maintain lane and open container in vehicle.
• Milton David Barfield, 42, 128 Covey Lane, was charged Monday with simple battery (family violence) and cruelty to children.
Shontrail Barfield, 37, told police that Barfield grabbed her by the shirt, pushed her to the floor and threw her down steps. When her son called 911 he left.
Barfield’s shirt was torn and there was dirt on it, police said. One of her children also witnessed the incident, police said.

• Daniel Zavale, 29, 283 DeMott Subdivision Road, was charged Sunday with driving while license withdrawn.
• Jimmy Darrell Smith JR., 26, 105 Culburth Road, was charged Sunday with driving while license withdrawn and driving while tag suspended.
• Winston Dewayne Revels, 30, 131 Nell Ave., was charged Saturday with driving while license withdrawn and no insurance.
• Filberto Salas Hernandez, 34, 3457 Sylveter Drive Lot 3, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence, failure to drive within single lane and driving without license.
• Marcos Lopez Luna, 34, 806 Circle Road Lot 8, was charged Friday with driving while unlicensed.

• Marco Lopez, 21, 220 Yogi Bear Road, Norman Park, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, driving without license, improper turn and failure to drive within single lane.

Burglary
Moultrie Police
• Lashanda Mordon, 700 block 26th Avenue Southeast, reported Saturday the theft of a wallet.
Mordon told police that she later found the wallet and contents in her back yard but $400 was missing.
• Colin Dampier, 1900 block Fourth Street Southeast, reported Saturday that unknown property was stolen from a 1984 Sunline Coach camper home.
Dampier also reported that property valued at $140 was taken from a 1997 Ford LGT.
Thefts
• Tiffany Rabon, 1400 block Ninth Street Southwest, reported Saturday the theft of a 1999 Dodge Neon valued at $2,000.
The car later was found parked behind a church near the intersection of Fourth Street and 12th Avenue.
• Patrick Duckworth, 35, Moultrie, reported that electronics valued at $128 were stolen out of a 1997 Nissan truck parked in the 1400 block of North Main Street.
• John Rodman, 78, Lebanon, Tenn., reported Saturday the theft of checks from his checkbook that he lost in the 100 block of First Street Southeast.

• Shabrella Ward, 300 block Kendalwood Drive, reported Friday the theft of a Nintendo DS XL valued at $300.
• Julie Autrey, 700 block Mitchell County Line Road, reported Friday the theft of her daughter’s wallet while she was at Colquitt County High.
The wallet and contents were valued at $36.
• Tammy Edith Patterson, 200 block Southerland Avenue, Berlin, reported Friday the theft of a platinum princess ring set, San Marco bracelet, triple woven bracelet and necklace with butterfly pendant with a total value of $2,674.
Battery
Moultrie Police
• Drew Hegwood, 28, Moultrie, reported Saturday that a male acquaintance backhanded him in the face in the 2400 block of South Main Street.
• Aza Harris, 1100 block Sixth Street Northwest, reported Saturday that a male acquaintance hit her repeatedly in the face and body when he came to her residence and she refused to leave with him.
She told police that when she was able to get away and call for assistance the man took the battery out of her cell phone. When she ran inside and called from another phone the man left.
Harris had swelling to the right eye, police said. Warrants will be taken for the man’s arrest.
• Nikki Easterling, 26, Moultrie, reported Friday that a male acquaintance pushed her and hit her in the face while she was retrieving property in the 20 block of Regency Village Drive. A man with Easterling who was not identified in reports told police the man hit him when he tried to defend Easterling. Neither had any visible injuries, police said. The man they identified as the attacker denied touching either of them and a witness backed his account. No arrests were made.

• Cheryl McCoy, 100 block Green Street, reported Saturday that a female relative and male acquaintance assaulted her in her bedroom. A witness told police that McCoy had thrown the man and woman’s belongings outside, causing a physical altercation.
No arrests were made.

• William Pittman, 1000 block Elliot Brown Street, reported Sunday an incident of property damage.

• Gwinnett White, 400 block 31st Avenue Southeast, reported Sunday that a male acquaintance has been entering her apartment when she is not at home. Police served the man with a trespass notice.
• Packer Food Mart, 527 Hwy. 319 N., reported Friday that two checks cashed on Jan. 8 by the same man had been returned. The total value of the two checks was $90.
Sheriff’s Office
• Leilani Roberts, 100 block Elham Road, reported Sunday that a male acquaintance has been taking the key to a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu out of her residence and driving the car without her permission. Roberts told police the man also told her that he had removed a tracking device place in the car by the finance company, and that he had left her keys and cell phone in a field.
