William Darrell Barton

MOULTRIE — William Darrell Barton, 74, of Moultrie, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., today, Dec. 28, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tony Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Bridge Creek Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Norris Barton, Glenn Barton, Tyler Butler, Jerry Burnham, Wendell Willoughby and Michael Whitfield.

Born Oct. 8, 1940, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late William Troy Barton and Minnie Kelly Barton. He was a retired mechanic with Parker Machine Shop and was a member of Zion Grove Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Barton and Gene Barton; and one sister, Corine Willoughby.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynita Barton Butler of North Palm Beach, Fla.; one son, Timothy Gene Barton of Winter Garden, Fla.; two grandchildren, Kristi Lynn Butler and Tyler Gregory Butler; four brothers, Willard Barton of Thomasville, Dennis Barton of Moultrie, Glynn Barton of Alabama and Troy Norris Barton of Thomasville; three sisters, Elizabeth Barton, Faye Burnham and Betty Hall, all of Moultrie; and other family members.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
