Heroes all!

“I want to applaud Mr. Davis Tyler for putting together his book ‘Circle of Soldiers.’We do not have to honor a war but we must always honor our soldiers, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Politicians start wars that our young men and women must die in. Apparently we learned very little from Vietnam, but we sacrificed much. This book is important because we must remember our own who answered this call. Heroes all!”

Important work

“I encourage anyone who has information that can help Mr. Tyler put together his book about Colquitt County men who died in Vietnam to contact him. This book will is important to our community and to generations to come.”

Won’t let go

“Someone said to let the Intermodal Facility thing go — that it is history. Yes, it is history and it should stand as a monument to poorly-conceived ideas and wasted tax dollars. Some communities have ‘roads to nowhere.’ We have a ‘building for no one.’”

Think about it

“One’s view of Hispanic immigrants is most likely colored by the source of his revenues. Think about that … even here locally.”

Perjury?

“So if a witness testified to a grand jury that he saw the officer shoot Mr. Brown in the back after he was down and the medical examiner proves there were no shots to the back, should not that witness be charged with perjury? And people cry for justice?”

Good idea

“The event in Ferguson, Mo., is indeed a tragedy from all sides. Burning a town is no answer. So might we learn from this incident. Perhaps there is merit in the suggestion that officers wear cameras, assuming such technology is feasible. It would serve as a protection for the office and the public. I would like to hear more discussion on that issue. I know that police cars are equipped with cameras, so is this feasible for officers.”

Me too

“Add me to the list. I would like to be around longer as well to see more advancements in science. I can only imagine the possibilities, given how far we have come in the past 50 years.”

Differences

“Not only do many people not know the differences between city and county governments, they also don’t know the difference between municipal court and Superior Court. Nor do they know the role of a grand jury as compared to a trial jury.”

Go figure

“I don’t do Facebook. But a friend showed me some stuff that was on a Facebook page. Now I better understand why reality shows are such a success. As well, someone noted that while some people oppose Big Brother snooping on them, others will get on Facebook and tell it all. Go figure!”
