MOULTRIE — People looking to score some Halloween night treats got tricks instead when they knocked on the door of a suspected drug house that police had raided earlier that night.

The Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office arrested a total of nine people — including two accused marijuana dealers — on Friday at the Nell Avenue residence.

“This stems from an investigation we conducted at Number 7 Nell Avenue,” sheriff’s Lt. Shawn Bostick said on Monday. “Drug agents executed a search warrant. Two people have been charged in connection with selling marijuana.”

The other seven showed up while officers were at the residence.

“During the execution of the search warrant there were individuals arrested for attempting to purchase marijuana,” Bostick said.

Willie Charles Toomer, 40, who lived at the Nell Avenue home and Steven Shavonta Tripp, 27, 406 Seventh Ave. S.E., were each charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Those arrested on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana included:

• Irene Gomez Mejia, 53, 1330 Highway 319 Lot 3.

• Daryl Ken Kinsey, 48, 2405 Fifth Ave. S.E. Apt. A.

• Sandra Dee Blount, 54, 1957 Sylvester Hwy. Lot 21.

• Kevin Wayne Knippel, 23, Bonnie Tuck Road, Funston.

Booking reports had not been completed on Monday for the other two people who were charged.

Bostick said that the investigtion is not complete.

“The investigation may lead to other charges (of) other individuals for sales going on at that location,” he said.

In an unrelated incident, Moultrie police charged Kristi Renee Jordan, 27, 1513 Overlook Drive, and Tammy Alyssa Workman, 24, 916 Eighth Ave. S.E., on Friday with possession of MDMA. Jordan also was charged with possession of marijuana.

Moultrie Police Department reports said that officers received a tip at about 10 p.m. Friday that a group of women were smoking marijuana in a blue Nissan Altima in the 300 block of Second Street Northwest. Police smelled the odor of marijuana, and when questioned, Jordan, the driver, handed over two plastic bags containing suspected marijuana and two packages of Clipper Cigarillos.

Police reports said that two other women in the car were charged with possession of MDMA, but booking reports were not available on Monday.
