ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Susan Lydia Coggins, 57, formerly of Doerun, Ga., died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Journey Hospice Home in Rochester, N.Y.

Ms. Coggins was born in Thomaston, Ga., on Aug. 12, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Jean Jarrell Coggins and William Lester Coggins.

She is survived by two brothers, Randy (wife Beth)of San Antonio, Texas, and Mark (wife Susan) of Albany, Ga.; six nieces and nephews, Katie Gaide (husband Shawn), Allison Brown (husband Josh), William Coggins, Caroline Coggins, Anthony Coggins, and Meghan Coggins; and two great-nieces, Greta Sumner Gaide and Parker Elizabeth Brown.

Ms. Coggins’ closest companion was her faithful dog, Wheaton.

After growing up in Georgia, Susan answered the Lord’s calling and attended Elim Bible Institute in Lima, N.Y. Rochester became her home, and later her love for people and life would lead her into the field of nursing. “She was a loving caring person who always maintained her sense of humor,” friends recalled. “Susan was a member of Elim Gospel Church and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Heritage Church in Moultrie, Ga., at 7 p.m. All family and friends are invited to celebrate her life story.
