A suspect in a June shooting whom police had been seeking for a month was jailed this week on assault and other charges.
Patrick Lee McCloud, 32, 119 Ninth Ave. N.W., was charged Monday with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and aggravated assault. Police also charged him with probation violation.
McCloud is accused of shooting Michael Peeples in the jaw with a pistol, police said at the time.
The shooting occurred at about 2 a.m. June 28 in the 300 block of Second Street Northwest.
McCloud was convicted in 2003 on a charge of sale or distribution of cocaine and sentenced to 10 years, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was released after serving about three years.
