Summer feeding continues at First Methodist Church

Published 9:43 pm Saturday, July 19, 2014

The school system summer feeding program sponsored by the USDA, which ran from June 2 through July 18, has ended. The First United Methodist Church was one of the sites for this program and assisted in feeding breakfast and lunch to children 18 years of age and younger, regardless of financial eligibility. The church filled the gap the first few days after school was out, before the USDA program began. Now FUMC is continuing to fill the gap by serving lunch Monday-Friday, from 12:15-12:45 p.m., beginning July 21 and ending Aug. 6.
