Benjamin Collins, of the 3700 block of Thigpen Trail, Hartsfield, told police that a 20-year-old acquaintance showed up at his residence at about 4 a.m. Saturday looking for a place to stay. Collins reported that he called the woman’s friends and relatives to either let her stay with them or pick her up before he eventually let her stay at his residence.

Collins went to work the next day and when he returned at about 6 p.m. Saturday he reported the woman began arguing and hit him in the eye. After he kicked her out and locked his doors, he told police, she picked up a board which she used to break a glass pane on the front door and then let herself in. After she went inside she broke another window, a Dell laptop computer and rummaged through the residence before walking outside.

Once outside, Collins reported, the woman threw a brick at the windshield of his 1987 Toyota 4×4 truck then fled when he got on the phone. She returned a short time later and again threw a brick at his windshield before going into the woods prior to the arrival of law enforcement and medical personnel.

After the woman was found she refused medical treatment, but she was examined by emergency medical personnel when she arrived at the jail before she was turned over to jail nursing staff.

A search of the woman turned up a glass smoking pipe, a grinder such as those used for grinding marijuana and a small pocket knife, sheriff’s reports said.
