Virginia Irene Folsom Daughtry

Virginia Irene Folsom Daughtry, 78, of Moultrie, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at PruittHealth-Magnolia Manor.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Andy Daughtry and the Rev. Jack Millwood officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Chris Daughtry, Matt Daughtry, Jacob Horsley, Kayla Daughtry, Bobby Gatling and Pat Hargrove.

Born Oct. 5, 1935, in Aucilla, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Clyde Leon Folsom and Flonnie Harnage Folsom. She was a retired bank teller with C&S Bank and was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing with her late husband, gardening, flowers and sewing for the grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Leonard Daughtry; her brother, Clyde Folsom; and her sister Dorothy Cormier.

Survivors include one son, Jack L. Daughtry Jr. and wife Donna of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Donna Daughtry Horsley of Tifton; four grandchildren, Chris L. Daughtry and wife Jamie of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Matt L. Daughtry and wife Kathleen of Houston, Texas, Kayla L. Daughtry Gatling and husband Bobby of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Jacob B. Horsley and wife Casy of Tifton; three great-grandchildren, Katie Horsley, Jackson Daughtry  and Sean Daughtry; and one brother, Ray Folsom.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.–8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
