From a tragedy sprang a celebration.

Jackie Pollard, started Community Day in Northwest Moultrie in 1986, a year after her son’s fatal stabbing near Shaw Gym. The event commemorates the 16-year-old’s short life and stands as an effort to resist the violence that has long plagued the city.
