Georgia Gayle Swanner Carruthers

Georgia Gayle Swanner Carruthers, 60, of Moultrie, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Park Regency in Moultrie.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

Casketbearers will be Adam Swanner, Alex Swanner, Tyler Swanner, Chad Carruthers, Dustin Carruthers and Gary Adams.

Born Oct. 8, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt Talmadge Swanner and Georgia Pearl Cooley Swanner. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lyman Carruthers Jr., and her sister, Ann Taylor.

Survivors include her daughter, Tabetha Calloway and husband Brent of Norman Park; three stepsons, Craig Carruthers of Valdosta, Chad Carruthers of Gray, Ga., and Dustin Carruthers and wife Sarah of Tallahassee; one granddaughter, Taylor Calloway; two stepgrandchildren, Cody Deep and Ashlyn Carruthers; four brothers, Bruce Swanner of Tupelo, Miss., Keith Swanner of Moultrie, Robert Swanner of Midlothian, Texas, and Norman Swanner of Meridian, Miss.; and one sister, Betty Ware of Flagstaff, Ariz.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
