Rep. Jay Powell named to DUI study panel

State Rep. Jay Powell is one of five Republicans named Thursday to the House Study Committee on DUI Recidivism and Driver’s License Suspensions and Reinstatements.
Powell, a Camilla attorney, represents Georgia’s District 171, which includes the western half of Colquitt County.
The appointments, announced by House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, also included Rep. Tom Rice, R-Norcross, as chairman; and members Rep. Barry Fleming, R-Harlem, Rep. Dusty Hightower, R-Carrollton; and Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens.
The House Study Committee on DUI Recidivism and Driver’s License Suspensions and Reinstatements was created by HR 1805.
