Moultrie Technical College recognized Worth County’s Bill Boone on June 18 for his 10 total years of service to the MTC Board of Directors.
MTC serves Colquitt, Tift, Turner and Worth counties.
Boone is the entrepreneur outreach specialist for the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center. Prior to his statewide role at the SBDC, he retired from the U.S. Navy as a captain in 1998 after having served 26 years.
Boone, a certified board member through the Technical College Directors’ Association, has seen MTC through many transitions including campus construction and renovation, unprecedented enrollment growth, state budget cuts, and the 2011 conversion from the quarterly academic calendar to the semester system. He joined the board to fill the open position left by a retiring board member for a one-year term and then added three separate three-year terms to finish his service in 2014 during MTC’s 50th Anniversary year.
