Michael Moore reported Wednesday to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office that he purchased a cell telephone in Colquitt County after seeing it advertised on the Craigslist web site. He gave $100 for the used phone.

Later, after several attempts to activate the phone, Moore contacted the seller, who agreed to meet Moore at the Verizon store. The man never showed up, Moore told police. Subsequent attempts to get in contact with him resulted in text responses that were “hostile and unwelcome.”
