3 FFA students among the best in the state

Jaimee Burt earned third place in the state with her project, which involved operating her family’s small beef farm, Burt’s Beef.

Recently, Colquitt County FFA members competed at the State FFA Convention in Agricultural Proficiency projects.  Agricultural Proficiencies are based on a student’s Supervised Agricultural Experience Project, which is a project completed at home that is related to agriculture.

Matthew Norman won first place at the state level for his project, which involved operating his own small farm growing cotton and peanuts. Norman will compete at the National FFA Convention in October with his project.

Bruce Hinson earned second place in the state with his project, which involved operating his family’s welding and metal repair business, Jaimie’s Welding and Fabrication.

Jaimee Burt earned third place in the state with her project, which involved operating her family’s small beef farm, Burt’s Beef.
