Roads were wet and slick, but as of Thursday afternoon only one road closure was reported.
Dunn Road was closed where water is over the roadway. There was one tree reported across Heard Road in the afternoon, but it was removed by Colquitt CountY Roads and Bridges Department.
“When it (water) runs down, we’ll see what it needs,” department Superintendent Charles Weathers said. “They’re pretty much all slick and muddy on top.”
He described road conditions as about what would be expected for the amount of rain that was received on Wednesday and Thursday and said he was unaware of anything unusual.
The Georgia Automated Environmental Monitoring Network station located at Spence Field measured 2.9 inches of rain there on Wednesday.
The station measured a total of 1.36 inches through 5:10 p.m. on Thursday.
County workers will make repairs after roads dry out and they can assess their condition.
“Hopefully the rains are over for a few days,” Weathers said. “We’ll make them travelable.
