Georiga Cities Tour will be in Moultrie

The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and Georgia Cities Foundation (GCF) will be in south Georgia this week conducting the “Georgia Cities: The Heart and Soul of Georgia” bus tour. The two day tour will visit the cities of Moultrie, Valdosta and Thomasville focusing on Downtown Development.
The two day mobile workshop targets state wide municipal elected officials that are interested in downtown revitalization and adjoining neighborhood redevelopment. Tour participants will be provided opportunities to view actual plans and projects, meet with officials from host cities to discuss their downtown strategies, their success stores and their lessons learned. Also on the bus will be resources team members representing such organizations as UGA, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Historic Preservation Division, Georgia Power, The Georgia Downtown Association, Georgia Electric Membership Corporation.
Approximately 55 riders will participate on the tour.

11:15 am- Bus arrives in Downtown Moultrie (courthouse square)
11:30 am- lunch at The Square Restaurant (on the square)
12:45 pm.- Moultrie Downtown presentation begins inside The Square Restaurant
1:15 pm.- Downtown Walking tour begins
-Friedlander building (under renovation)
-The Red Building (under renovation)
-Colquitt Towers (renovation complete)
-Courthouse Annex
3:30 pm – Bus departs
