Davis won the Grand Champion Breeding Heifer Award at the 2014 Georgia Junior National Livestock Show in Perry on Feb. 22. As the grand champion, Davis received a $2,500 prize sponsored by GFB, and at the dinner she was presented with a commemorative belt buckle.

The grand champions were invited to bring their family, friends and county Extension agent or ag teacher to the GFB Evening of Grand Champions. The event was designed to celebrate the grand champions and their support teams for their accomplishments. Georgia Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall, Georgia Agricultural Education Program Manager Chip Bridges and Georgia State 4-H Leader Arch Smith spoke at the dinner.

“These young people put a lot of time and effort into these shows, and we’re extremely proud of their accomplishments,” said Duvall. “It’s important that we recognize achievements of our young people and the Evening of Grand Champions is our way of celebrating accomplishments of students involved in agricultural training programs.”
