MTC inducts 20 into honor society

Moultrie Technical College inducted 20 of its most accomplished students into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on April 9 at the college’s ceremonies in Moultrie and Tifton. Several of the students who were inducted at the MTC Veterans Parkway campus ceremony in Moultrie are pictured. Moultrie Technical College inducted 20 students into its National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) organization at the college’s ceremonies on April 9 at the Veterans Parkway Campus in Moultrie and on the MTC Tifton Campus. Inducted students represent the college’s four-county service area of Colquitt, Tift, Turner and Worth.

NTHS is a non-profit honor organization for students enrolled in occupational and technical programs at the college level.

Acting President Jim Glass, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs Tina Strickland, and Dean for Academic Affairs Kathryn Kent assisted with the induction ceremony.

NTHS inductees must be diploma or degree seeking students, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75, have completed at least 45 credit hours, have a satisfactory work ethics evaluation, and be nominated by a Moultrie Technical College instructor.

Benefits of NTHS membership include special recognition at graduation, a diploma seal and letters of recommendation to potential employers when students begin their job searches following graduation.

According to the national office of NTHS, many employers specifically seek new hires through the organization because of the high level of work ethics and intelligence found in its members.

This year’s inductees are Accounting students Gerald Bishop, Brenda Chafin, Jerry Hayes and Kimberly Swain; Air Conditioning Technology student Annette Thornton; Business Administrative Technology students Tabitha Alligood, Lisandra Exposito, Sherri Geiger and Tammy Melton; Computer Networking Specialist program students Tyler Gregory, Marcus Johnson, Michael Roberts and James Whittington; Criminal Justice Technology student Lila Pryor; Industrial Systems Technology students Mark Hatcher and Joshua Whittington; Medical Assisting program student Trisha Castleberry; Neuromuscular Massage Therapist program student Crystal Livingston; Radiologic Technology student Dulce Carter; and Surgical Technology student Gina Chambers.
