A man accused of running from police faces a felony drug charge after officers found a considerable amount of suspected marijuana in his pockets when he was captured.

Kameion Kejuan Pace, 23, 329 Hwy. 111, was charged Wednesday with possession of more than an ounce of marijuana and obstruction of a police officer.

Moultrie Police Department reports said that an officer stopped a 1994 Volvo S40 at about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday in the at First Avenue and Fifth Street Northwest. The officer stopped the Volvo because it appeared to have a temporary tag with only a date on it.

A second officer who came to assist the officer who made the traffic stop saw a clear plastic bag in the back seat of the car and asked the three people to get out of the car, police Inv. Eric Fries said.

“Kameion Pace took off and fled the scene on foot,” Fries said. “(An officer) was able to apprehend him.”

A search of Pace turned up about four ounces of suspected marijuana, he said.

“The other two individuals with him said they didn’t know about it, and he (Pace) said they didn’t have anything to do with it, so we let them go,” Fries said.

In other arrests?

• Traricus Triomphe Harris, 48, 608 Oak Circle, was charged Thursday with aggravated assault and battery (family violence).

Harris told police investigating a domestic dispute that he “jumped his uncle,” police reports said.

Earnest Rogers, 65, told police that Harris broke his walking stick when Harris hit him in the head with it. Roaslyn Fletcher reported that when she tried to break up the fight Harris grabbed her, shoved her to the round and punched her in the mouth.

Rogers was seen by emergency medical personnel at the scene but he did not go to the emergency room, police said.

• James Eric Scott, 52, 1900 Fourth St. S.E., was charged March 27 with four counts of violating city nuisance ordinances dealing with sanitation, plumbing and wiring.

Police said that an officer found a small mobile home trailer in Scott’s back yard, with an extension cord running from his residence to the trailer. Scott was renting the trailer, which had no sewage system, to another person, police said.

• Harold Dale Wright Jr., 32, Barnwell St., Camilla, was charged Thursday with driving under the influence, failure to yield entering roadway and leaving the scene of an accident.

• Christopher Josue Doyle, 20, 2116 E. Central Ave., was charged Thursday with probation violation.

• William Ashley Crosby, 39, 1063 County Line Road, was charged Thursday with probation violation.

• Monica Ann Cano, 29, 516 Hwy. 133 S. Lot 72, was charged Thursday with driving without license and canceled registration.

• Felipe Roque-Zapote, 42, 589 Circle Road Lot 45, was charged Thursday with disorderly conduct and interference with 911 call.

Gloria Perez, Roque-Zapote’s wife, reported that her husband had threatened her, making her fear for her safety, and that when she tried to call law enforcement he broke her cell telephone.

Roque-Zapote told police that he broke the telephone, but that he did not realize his wife was trying to call for assistance at the time.

• Savannah Klipp, 29, 153 Jana Circle, was charged Thursday with driving while license withdrawn and failure to drive within single lane.

• Angel Gonzalez, 21, 3312 Old Adel Road Lot 2, was charged Tuesday with probation violation.

• Meria Gonzales, 7700 block 30th Avenue, r eported Tuesday that 37-inch and 32-inch LG televisions and about $10 in change were stolen during a burglary of her residence.

The televisions were valued at $700.

• Christian Nails, 5 First St. S.E., reported Thursday that someone made transactions totaling more than $1,500 using a company credit card.
