Greene to be honored

The Rev. Freddie Castle.

A banquet honoring the Rev. J. W. Greene Jr., as he journeys into his second year as 2nd District President of General Missionary Baptist of Georgia Inc., will be held at 6 p.m., on Saturday, March 15, at Mother Easter Baptist Church in the E.H. Hopkins Fellowship Hall, where the Rev. Freddie Castle is the pastor.

The speaker for this occasion is Castle, who is a native of Louisiana. His education and courses include Master of Divinity from Morehouse School of Religion at ITC, in Atlanta, Ga.; Bachelor of Science from Grambling State University in Grambling, La.; and clinical pastoral experience at Georgia Medical Center in Atlanta, Ga., Professional Institute for Chaplaincy Development, NBC USA Inc. Pastor’s Alternative, NBC USA, Inc. and Pastoral Care and Church Leadership and Administration, GMBC of Georgia.

Castle’s ministries include from November 1998-August 2009, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Tifton and from November 2002-2012, president of Fowltown Congress of Christian Education. He is presently employed as a clinical chaplain at the Telfair State Prison and the pastor of Mother Easter Baptist.

He is married to Margie A. Huckaby Castle and father of two sons Lee and Ryan and three daughters Erin, Cadon and Lydia.
