Several thousand dollars in thefts were among the crimes investigated by Moultrie and Colquitt County authorities over the weekend, including the theft of an air conditioning unit on South Main Street.  Kajuana Farrey, Albany, reported Friday the theft of a heat and air unit valued at $7,000 from Farrey Family Dentistry, 513 S. Main St.

In  arrests, Ronnie Lee Wright Jr., 41, 271 Lakeview Acres, was charged Saturday with possession of marijuana and driving while license withdrawn and Charline Rita Rodriguez, 36, 221 Willow Drive, was charged Sunday with theft by shoplifting.

Rodriguez was arrested after Save-A-Lot, 205 Sixth St. S.E., reported that she concealed merchandise valued at $1.39 in her pocket book.

• Vera Elizabeth Morris, 30, 517 26th Ave. S.E., was charged Monday with deposit account fraud.

• Jack Delane Byrd, 29, 1941 Second St. S.E., was charged Monday with probation violation.

• Parker Gary Giles, 34, 3555 Doerun-Norman Park Road, was charged Monday with probation violation.

• Martin Gonzalez, 28, 316 Tallokas Estates, was charged Monday with probation violation.

• Horace Donald Jolly, 24, 180 Dennis Powell Lane, Norman Park, was charged Monday with probation violation.

Thefts

Moultrie Police

• Amilia Williams, 5800 block 26th Avenue Southeast, reported Friday the theft of a picture of her only living child.

• Shelby Satterfield, Leon County, Fla., reported Saturday the theft of an Apple iPhone he lost at a work site in the 3100 block of South Main Street.

• Markes Seabrooks, 38, Moultrie, reported Saturday the theft of a bicycle from his workplace in the 500 block of First Avenue Southeast.

• Tony Brock, 52, Moultrie, reported Monday a burglary of a business in the 3000 block of South Main Street in which an undetermined amount of property was taken.

Fraud

Moultrie Police

• Shakiya Lewis, 1500 block Fourth Avenue Northeast, reported Friday that someone used her personal information to file a fraudulent income tax return.

• Erica Allen, 22, Moultrie, reported Friday that she answered a Craigslist internet ad for a 2006 Lexus IS 250 and sent a $2,791 payment as  instructed to “Amazon Payments.”

She later learned that there is no Amazon Payments and that the person identified as working at the purported company also was fictitious.

• Cynthia Horsch, 61, Hartsfield, reported Monday a case of identity fraud.

• Monica Burkes, 30, reported Monday that she was the victim of identify fraud.

Property damage

Moultrie Police

• Larry Trowbridge, 68, Moultrie, reported that a 2013 Nissan was damaged while he was driving in the 400 block of West Central Avenue.

Trowbridge told police that he heard something hit the passenger door of the car and when he stopped he found a dent and scratches.

 He believes that someone in a crowd of people in the area threw something at the vehicle.

• Jamal Lee, 400 block Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, reported Saturday that a female acquaintance scratched a 1994 Nissan XE that he had lent to a friend.

The woman admitted damaging the truck, police said.

 Lee did not prosecute and the woman agreed to pay for the damages.

• A Moultrie city employee reported that a street sign was damaged in the 1300 block of Hallmark Drive at West Bypass.

• Kayla Blount, 25, Moultrie, reported Sunday that a driver crashed into the rear of her 1992 Volvo 940 GL at the intersection of Fifth Street and Second Avenue Northwest.

Blount told police that the other driver, in what looked to be a burgundy Chevrolet Lumina, left without speaking with her. She was not injured, police said.

• Jazma Ponder, 400 block Seventh Avenue Southeast, reported Sunday that a 2003 Ford Taurus was scratched while parked in her yard.

• Mason Jones, Moultrie, reported Monday that the driver of a gold Ford Ranger backed into the tailgate of a 2005 Ford Firestar and struck a 1993 Ford LGT while driving away.

The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Fifth Avenue Southeast.

• Georgia & Florida Railway reported Monday that a train car was damaged at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Second Street Northeast.

The rail car had four ditch lights broken and broken windows, police said, and apparently was parked at the location over the weekend.

Trespassing

Moultrie Police

• New China Buffet, 517 First Ave. S.E., reported Friday that a man was asking for money from people in the restaurant parking lot, the third time a report was filed there on the man.

Police served the man with a trespass notice informing him that ht would be arrested if he returned to the property.

• Kijafa Gettys, 600 block Third Avenue Southwest, reported Saturday that a male acquaintance came to her residence and started an argument with her and her boyfriend.

The man was served with a trespass notice.

• An employee at La Reyna, 524 Third Ave. S.E., reported Saturday that a man has been coming inside the store all week asking for money and food.

On Saturday he became irate and used vulgar language in front of employees and customers.

 The employee wants the man banished from the property.

Moultrie police staking out on Sunday newspaper racks where previous thefts were reported made three arrests on theft charges.

Arrested and charged with theft by taking were: Claire Walker, 75, 1004 Highland Blvd.; Ben Anthony Howard Jr., 35, 913 12th Ave. S.E., and Virginia Carolyn Gay, 63, 60 Pine Valley Circle.

Police said that Walker and Gay, in separate incidents, both took two newspapers from a rack in the first block of 16th Avenue Southeast after paying for only one.

Howard is accused of paying for one newspaper and taking multiple ones at a paper rack in the 2700 block of South Main Street.

• Tonya Tillman, 300 block Hopewell Church Road, reported Monday that an adult male sent indecent photographs to a juvenile relative using an electronic device.
