Man found dead in motel room

The death of a man in his 30s whose body was found in a Moultrie motel appears to have been of natural causes.

Edward Walton, 38, had previous health issues that likely contributed to his death, Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock said Wednesday. He may have died as early as Saturday.

Employees at Cocomo Inn, 1713 First Ave. S.E., reported the death at about 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Moultrie Police Department reports said.

Motel room service employees found the body, Brock said.

• Kentwan S. Weed, 20, 711 Seventh Ave. S.E., was charged Tuesday with no license, head light requirement and children’s safety belt violation.

Thefts

• Harrell’s Auto Electric, 620 W. Central Ave., reported Monday the theft of property valued at $1,534.

• Frances Gay, Moultrie, reported Monday the theft of a lost diamond pendant valued at more than $500.

Gay told police that she is not sure where she lost the pendant.

• Trina Strickland, 600 block Fifth Avenue Southeast, reported Tuesday the theft of a grill valued at $100.

Strickland told police that a male acquaintance had the grill taken to his residence and Strickland got it back.

• Belinda Gay, Moultrie, reported Monday that a vehicle struck her 2001 Saturn LS200 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. while it was parked in the 900 block of First Avenue Southeast.
