Woman comes home to mess on New Year’s Day

A woman who argued with her boyfriend on New Year’s Day returned home to find her house trashed, including having food from her refrigerator scattered all over the house.
Patricia Daniels, of the 100 block of Vinson Street, reported to the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office that she had an argument with the male companion earlier in the day. She also told police that during a previous argument he had thrown eggs on the floor and scattered belongings in the house.
However, what she reportedly came home to Wednesday was much worse, with rice and flour thrown in the kitchen and on the living room carpet and couches.
Daniels also reported broken dishes and lamps, overturned furniture, drawers ripped out and curtains ripped out in a bedroom, the bathroom in disarray with a shelving unit damaged, and food from the refrigerator and freezer scattered around the residence.
Arrests
Sheriff’s Office
• Christy Nicole Hobgood, 2236 Hwy. 41, Tifton, was charged Friday with two counts probation violation.
• Michael James Ethridge, 31, 39 Highland Ave., Cuthbert, was charged Thursday with probation violation.
Moultrie Police
• Pamela Leatrice Phillips, 40, 708 Pine Drive, was charged Tuesday with no insurance and suspended tag.
• Anthony Rhodes, 36, 260 Dick Traylor Road, was charged Thursday with entering auto, obstruction and probation violation.
• Shantel Alford, 32, 155 Minnesota Quarters, Doerun, and Robert Lee Williams, 52, 622 Second Ave. N.E., were each charged Thursday with possession of marijuana.
• Gregory James Schaefer, 26, 729 Monticello Drive, Tallahassee, was charged Thursday with driving with suspended license and headlight required.
• Keyonnia Vontres Travis, 18, 553 27th St. S.E. Apt. 3, was charged Thursday with probation violation.
Thefts
Sheriff’s Office
• Joseph David Hullett, 400 block North Railroad Street, Norman Park, reported Thursday that a male acquaintance sold a 1996 Cadillac Deville that Hullett purchased at an auction to a scrap dealer.
Hullett, who had a title for the car, told police that he and the man had an arrangement that he would fix the car and they would sell it, splitting the proceeds.
A deputy confirmed that the car had been sold to a Moultrie-area scrap dealer on Dec. 17 by the man identified by Hullett, sheriff’s reports said.
Moultrie Police
• Ricky Yates, 400 block 30th Street Southeast, reported Wednesday the theft of a Finepix Games S4500 digital camera.
• Swede Johnson, first block Brackin Drive, reported Thursday the theft of golf clubs he ordered online.
Johnson told police that when he investigated, he was told by the post office that someone had brought in the delivery notification slip and picked up the package. The value of the golf clubs was estimated at $150.
• Property valued at $1,645 reported stolen by Steven Zanatta was found at a Moultrie pawn shop, police said.
Zanatta had reported the theft of property valued at more than $1,800 on Tuesday. He also told police some of the property had been sold.
Property worth $767 was recovered, police said.
• Nicole Hugya, 30, Moultrie, reported Thursday that a man to whom she lent her cell telephone ran away with it.
Hugya told police that she was under a shelter at Woodmen of the World Park, 300 block Fifth Street Southwest, to stay out of the rain when two apparent teenagers sat down at the picnic table. One of them started talking about being locked of his house and then asked to use her phone to call someone.
The two then ran away. Hugya described them as black males about 16 to 18 years old, one wearing a gray hoodie and blue jean shorts and the other wearing a black hoodie and black denim pants. The phone was valued at $100.
• Kasey Cochran, 400 block First Avenue Southwest, reported Thursday a burglary in which property valued at $267 was taken.
Battery
Sheriff’s Office
• Gail Bennett, 200 block James Buckner Road, reported Tuesday that a male relative grabbed her jacket and pulled on it and then pushed her against a car.
The man identified by Bennett told police that he followed her into the yard but did not intentionally touch her. Instead, the man, who walks with a cane, reported that he lost his balance and fell against Bennett.
Bennett left the residence, sheriff’s reports said.
Moultrie Police
• The Colquitt County School System reported Thursday that locks were broken off two doors in the 900 block of Fourth Street Southwest.
Damage was estimated at around $250.
