Three churches meet at 1st Baptist for lunch

The Three Church Luncheon was held recently at Moultrie First Baptist Church with First Baptist Bainbridge and First Baptist Valdosta as guests.

Neil Schoonover and Frank Farmer greeted the guests as they arrived, Ron Hatchett, with the Valdosta group, and Art Bruce with the Bainbridge group. Sam Stephens and Willette Pearson welcomed the guests. Background music was provided by Norma Jean Martin at the piano as guests arrived for the luncheon.

Loren Hildebrandt had the devotion, his topic was “High Praise” His text was from Psalms 148:1. Several fun games were played, and some of the guests introduced themselves and told some oftheir personal secrets. One lady announced that she was Baptist, but had Penacostal feet because she loved to dance. Janet Cauthern played “Name that Tune” game. Stephens offered some humorous jokes.

Jimbo Jarvis, did a superb job entertaining the audience with his music program. His selections ofsongs were, “A Place Called Grace,” “There Stood a Lamb,” “Your Grace Still Amazes Me,” Written in Red,” “Beulah Land” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Jarvis invited the audience to sing “Amazing Grace” to the tune of “Joy to the World.”

Marving Clayton wowed the audience with his comments and great sense of humor.

Thanks to all who had a part in the planning and preparation of the meeting and who took part in the meeting to make it such a great success.

The menu was party chicken, green beans, rice, squash casserole, cranberry salad, rolls, tea and a dessert table with cake and pies.
