The Rev. Ronald Barrett has been chosen to pastor Memorial Baptist Church and will start on Sunday, Oct. 6.

Barrett has been in the ministry for 48 years. He has pastored Elbethel Baptist Church in Whigham, Ga., Cool Springs Baptist Church in Sale City, Ga., Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Moultrie and Evergreen Baptist Church in Sylvester, Ga.

He and his wife, Lottis, have been married for 57 years. Their children are Ronnie Barrett, Paula Barrett and Pam Burgess and her husband Jody. Their grandchildren are Aaron Brown and Ryan Burgess and his wife Dana. Their great-grandchildren are Jacob Brown, Katie Brown and Danica Burgess.Memorial Baptist Church, which is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, is located in Moultrie on the Sylvester Highway.
