Funston Baptist Church recently celebrated its 115th anniversary with a ‘Labor of Love.’ The church body was challenged to share the good news of salvation in Christ with 115 people per month from June through August, according to a press release from the church. They would conclude the challenge with an outdoor baptism. By Sept. 1 the church had shared the good news with more than 410 people and celebrated by conducting the outdoor baptism at the ‘beach’ of Bill and Jeri Smith of Funston, the church said. Pictured are the Rev. Ron Shiver with baptismal candidates Trey Godwin, Zach Brinson, and Taylor Godwin.
