Crime log unusually light

A Leesburg service technician reported having a cell telephone and cover stolen out of his work van while on a job Tuesday in Colquitt County.

Joseph Brown reported that he left the door to his work van while working on a satellite dish and seeing a male running away from the van at about 12:54 p.m.

A Motorola Razr and Otterbox cover were taken. A second male returned Brown’s work phone.

The stolen property was valued at $450.

• Ronald Leon Lewis, 46, 732 Joe Louis Ave., was charged Tuesday with disorderly conduct.

• Tony DeShawn Bentley, 25, 1323 First Ave. N.W., was charged Tuesday with probation violation on a Colquitt County warrant.

Assaults

Moultrie Police

• Lynwood Fincher, 500 block 26th Street Southeast, reported Tuesday that a male acquaintance threw an egg at him as he walked out of his apartment.

The man identified by Fincher, who is black, denied throwing an egg, but told police that he shouted “racial obscenities” at Fincher, who is white.

No arrests were made. Police informed Fincher of how he could go about taking a warrant if he wished to do so, reports said.

Property damage

Moultrie Police

• Terry Grant, 1500 block First Ave. N.E., reported Tuesday that a 2003 Ford Taurus was damaged overnight.

The car had scratches over the entire car, police said. Damage was estimated at more than $500.

Sheriff’s Office

• Felipe Zapote, 500 block Circle Road, reported Tuesday that a male acquaintance scratched his car after taking a swing at him.

• Trev Simmons, 100 block Lonesome Pine Trail, reported Monday that a neighbor’s dog came into his yard, chased his cat and scratched his car.
