Steve Austin Mauldin, 60, of Morven, Ga., died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Agape Health and Rehab of Moultrie.

The funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Monday July 1, in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow at Morrison Baptist Church Cemetery in Brooks County.

He was born in Benton Harbor, Mich., to the late Austin Nelson Mauldin and Winnie Ruth Gibbs Mauldin. He lived most of his life in Cook and Brooks Counties. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a carpenter, where he was the owner of Steve’s Home Improvements.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Ann Mauldin of Morven, Ga.; a son, Michael Mauldin of Austin, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wennie and Phillip Lawson of Moultrie, Stephenie and Travis Bennett of Moultrie, and Christy Mauldin Nicholas and fiancé Darron Weldon of Morven, Ga.; a step-son and daughter-in-law, William Michael and Sylvia Crosby of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Jim DeSart of Nashville, Ga., Kay and Roger Register of Adel, Ga., and Paula and Danny Cross of Cecil, Ga.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 30, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel, Ga.
